Amendment in Eligibility Criteria for Admission to B.Arch. Courses

CoA has Revised Regulation 4(1) of the Council of Architecture Regulations 2020

The Council of Architecture (CoA) has revised Regulation 4 (1) of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architecture Education) Regulations, 2020, thereby modifying the eligibility criteria for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) courses.

Under the revised regulations, candidates applying for admission to the Bachelor of Architecture course must have successfully completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, or Business Studies, securing a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.

Alternatively, candidates who have passed the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and obtained at least 45% aggregate marks are also eligible.

Relaxation in the percentage of marks required in the qualifying examination for admission will be implemented according to the reservation policy of the central government or respective state governments.

CoA has issued directives to all stakeholders – including students, parents, architectural institutions, and relevant authorities – to adhere to the revised eligibility criteria for admission to the first year of the 5-year B.Arch. Degree courses starting from the academic session 2024-25.
