JEE Main 2026 Session 1 (22 Jan) Paper Analysis by ALLEN

Chemistry and Physics Moderate, Maths Lengthy

The first session of JEE Main-January 2026, the country’s largest engineering entrance examination for admission to B.E.-B.Tech. courses, is underway. The second day’s examination was held on Thursday, 22nd January.

The paper analysis was done based on student feedback. According to the information received from the students, the morning shift on the second day was of moderate to difficult level. Chemistry was more difficult and lengthy compared to the previous paper, which took students more time to complete.

JEE Main Chemistry Paper Analysis

In the morning shift, the Chemistry paper was more difficult than usual. Questions from Inorganic and Organic Chemistry kept the students engaged. The calculations in the Physical Chemistry paper were also difficult. Due to this, students faced more difficulty in solving the Chemistry paper.

In the first shift, 28 percent of the questions were covered from Inorganic Chemistry and 36-36 percent from Organic and Physical Chemistry. 28 percent of the questions in the paper were from the 11th-grade syllabus and 72 percent from the 12th-grade syllabus.

JEE Main Physics Paper Analysis

In the morning shift, the Physics paper was moderate as usual, which students solved easily. Most of the questions were asked from Electrodynamics, Mechanics, Modern Wave, Magnetism, Geometrical Optics, and Heat and Thermodynamics. 44 percent of the questions in the paper were from the 11th-grade syllabus and 56 percent from the 12th-grade syllabus.

JEE Main Mathematics Paper Analysis

In the morning shift, the Mathematics paper was of moderate level and lengthy. 32-32 percent of the questions were from Algebra and Calculus, and the remaining questions were from Vector 3D, Trigonometry, and Coordinate Geometry.
