NCERT Class 10th Deleted Syllabus 2023-24

The recent reduction in the NCERT syllabus for Class 10th includes the removal of certain chapters from the Science and Democratic Politics-I books has stoked significant concern among students whether these will be included in the final assessment or not.

The answer is: the recently deleted CBSE Class 10th topics will not be a part of the CBSE Class X board Assessment for the 2023-24 session. Students need not prepare these deleted chapters/topics for Board Exam 2024.

The NCERT Has Provided Six Reasons For The Deletion Of These Chapters

  1. Some content overlapped with material covered in other subjects within the same class.
  2. Similar content was already included in lower or higher classes for the same subject.
  3. The deleted content was easily accessible to students and did not require extensive teacher intervention.
  4. Some content was no longer relevant or had become outdated.
  5. The learning outcomes addressed in these chapters were already covered in other classes.
  6. An expert committee determined that certain aspects of social movements would be more appropriately covered in the Sociology subject. Chapter 1 of Class X’s Democratic Politics-II already addressed some aspects of social movements.

The recent reduction in the NCERT syllabus for Class 10th has been done to help students learn more effectively and make up for any time that may have been lost. The changes were made according to specific criteria to simplify the amount of content students need to cover.

It means the syllabus has been made more focused and efficient, allowing students to concentrate on the most important topics. The aim is to ensure that students have a smoother learning experience and grasp essential concepts more easily.
