1. National Level Medical Entrance Exams

(a) NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate)

  • Organizing body: National Testing Agency (NTA)
  • Course: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, B.Sc Nursing, Veterinary Science
  • Exam mode: Offline (pen-paper)
  • Eligibility: Minimum 50% marks in 12th with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) (relaxation for reserved category), minimum age 17 years

Exam pattern:

  • Total questions: 200 (180 to be solved)
  • Total marks: 720
  • Correct answer: +4 marks, wrong answer: -1 mark
  • Time: 3 hours 20 minutes
  • Syllabus: 11th and 12th NCERT Physics, Chemistry and Biology

(b) NEET-PG (Postgraduate)

  • Organizing Body: National Board of Examinations (NBE)
  • Course: MD, MS, PG Diploma
  • Eligibility: Completion of MBBS degree and internship mandatory
  • Exam Mode: Online (Computer Based)
  • Subject: MBBS course based

(c) INI-CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test)

  • Organizing Body: AIIMS, New Delhi
  • Course: MD, MS, MCh (6 years), DM (6 years), MDS
  • Institute: AIIMS, JIPMER, NIMHANS, PGIMER
  • Exam Mode: Online
  • Subject: MBBS Level

(d) AIIMS B.Sc Nursing and Paramedical Entrance

  • Course: B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing, B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic), B.Sc Paramedical
  • Eligibility: Minimum 55% marks in 12th PCB, English (relaxation for reserved category)
  • Exam Pattern: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, GK, General English

(e) JIPMER Nursing and Allied Health Sciences

  • Course: B.Sc Nursing, Bachelor of Allied Health Sciences
  • Exam Mode: Online
  • Eligibility: Minimum 50% marks in 12th PCB

(f) AIAPGET (All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test)

  • Organizing Body: NTA
  • Course: MD/MS (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy)
  • Eligibility: Relevant Graduate Degree

(g) NEET-MDS

  • Course: Master of Dental Surgery
  • Eligibility: BDS degree

2. State-level medical entrance exams

Although medical admission in most states is based on NEET scores, the counselling and seat allocation process is state level. Example:

  • Maharashtra State Counselling (DMER Maharashtra)
  • Rajasthan State Counselling
  • Karnataka KEA Medical Counselling
  • Tamil Nadu Medical Counselling (TN Medical Selection Committee)

3. Veterinary and other health science exams

(a) AIPVT (All India Pre-Veterinary Test)

Now admission to BVSc & AH courses is based on NEET scores.

(b) ICAR AIEEA (UG & PG)

  • Course: Agriculture, Dairy, Veterinary Science
  • Organizing Body: NTA

(c) BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) Admission

Admission through NEET or own entrance exam in many states and institutes
