NEET UG 2025 Exam Estimated to be Conducted for Over 1.2 Lakh MBBS Seats!

Registration for NEET UG-2025 May Commence Soon

Candidates preparing for the country’s largest medical entrance exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) are waiting for the notification and registration to start as soon as possible.

Last year, where admission was given on 117950 MBBS seats of 779 private and government medical colleges, this time according to experts, this number can be more than 1.20 lakh.

2000 MBBS Seats can Increase this Year

Education Experts informed that there are still some new government and private medical colleges in the queue, which will be issued Letter of Permission. This will be issued before the counseling of Medical Counseling Committee and State Board this year. In such a situation, MBBS seats will increase in these medical colleges.

On the other hand, MBBS seats in already running government and private medical colleges also increase every year. More than 2000 MBBS seats can increase across the country.

NEET UG 2025 – Over 25 Lakh Registrations Expected

Last year, NEET UG exam was held on 5 May 2024, for which registrations were done from 9 February to 9 March. During this, 24 lakh 6 thousand 79 candidates had registered and 23.33 lakh students appeared in the exam. Thus, the examination of the year 2025 could be held on 4 May. Registration for this will also start from the first week of February and will continue till March.

The inclination of students towards medical entrance examination is continuously increasing. Seeing this, it seems that this year the record of registration will be more than 25 lakh and more than 24 lakh candidates will appear in the exam.

107 Percent Increase in MBBS Seats

In the last 10 years, 61042 MBBS seats have increased in new medical colleges and old ones. In 2015, this seat was 56908, whereas in 2024, according to the data of the National Medical Commission, admission has been given on 117950 MBBS seats. 107 percent seats have increased in 10 years.

The Union government is moving forward with the goal of opening medical colleges in every district. In which medical colleges have already opened in many districts.

Maximum 11652 MBBS Seats Increased in 2023

If we talk about the last 2 years only, more than 20 thousand MBBS seats have increased. In the year 2022, there were 97263 MBBS seats. In the year 2023, it increased to 108915. In this 1 year itself, the maximum 11652 MBBS seats were increased.

After this, there were 117950 MBBS seats in 2024. This year 9035 seats have increased. The maximum number of MBBS seats increased in these two years is 20685.

Registered Candidates Increased 3 Times in 9 Years

In the year 2016, when the number of students registering for NEET UG was around 8 lakh, this number has increased three times. In the year 2024, this number was more than 24 lakh, whereas if we talk about the year 2020, around 15.97 lakh students had registered.

There has been an increase of about 50 percent in this. From 2023 to 24 itself, the number of students has increased by about 3.19 lakh.
