The NEET UG Counselling 2024 Will Be Conducted in 4 Rounds

Amid the ongoing row over the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) Examination, the central government has made it clear that the NEET UG Counselling 2024 will commence from July.

Centre has informed to the Supreme Court of India that Medical Counselling Committe (MCC) will conduct the NEET UG 2024 Counselling.The NEET UG 2024 Counselling will be conducted in four rounds from third week of July.

The NEET UG 2024 Counselling will be based on All India Rankings of NEET UG 2024. Along with AIR Rankings, the NEET UG 2024 admissions will be conducted on the basis of reservation policies. The NEET UG 2024 Counselling is the final process for admissions to the medical colleges of the country.

Centre has made this assertion before the Supreme Court when the matter of NEET UG 2024 alleged irregularities is lying before the Supreme Court. The NEET UG 2024 examination case will be heard by Supreme Court on 18 June.

The Union government confirmed that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) counselling will commence in the third week of July, with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) overseeing the process in four rounds.

Central government has informed about its plan of NEET UG 2024 Counselling by ruling out widespread irregularities in the NEET UG 2024 Examination.

Union Government had also enstrusted the IIT Madras for probe of the irregularities in NEET UG 2024 which also turned down any possibilities of malpractice in the NEET UG Examination.

Centre in its affidavit to the Supreme court has stated that it is not in favour of conducting re-examination of NEET UG 2024 on the basis of ‘unsubstantiated suspicions’ as it would affect the 24 lakh candidates.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling to be Conducted in 4 Rounds

The first round of the NEET UG 2024 Counselling will begin from third week of July while the announcement for the commencement of remaining three rounds will be made later. MCC will put the detailed schedule of NEET UG 2024 counselling on its website, mcc.nic.in later.

To facilitate admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other programs in government and private medical colleges of the country, the NEET UG 2024 was conducted on 5 May 2024 across 4750 examination centres in 571 cities including 14 overseas cities.

A total of 1.09 lakh MBBS seats, 27868 BDS seats and around 1000 B.Sc. Nursing seats in the medical colleges of the country will be filled through the NEET UG 2024 Counselling process.
