PROMYS India is a Residential Mathematics Programme for Class 9 to 12 Maths Students
Here is an opportunity for meticulously selected students from across the country to participate in a challenging six-week residential mathematics summer programme, Program in Mathematics for Young Scientists (PROMYS) India. The application process for the programme has started and will conclude by 15th February 2023.
The programme is open to mathematically talented secondary and higher secondary students (Standards IX – XII or equivalent) who will gather on the campus of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru to immerse themselves in rigorous mathematics. Applicants must attend secondary or higher secondary school in India in Standards IX-XII (or +1, +2, or PUC). Students must have completed (or currently be in) Standard IX before the start of the programme. PROMYS offers an opportunity to eligible students to join 32 students, 8 undergraduate counselors, faculty, research mentors, and visiting mathematicians for a residential summer of intensive mathematical exploration.
PROMYS India seeks to encourage mathematical habits of mind that support curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and independence in facing unfamiliar mathematical challenges. PROMYS comprise of Daily Number Theory lectures, advanced seminars, exploration labs, and mentored research plus guest lectures and talks on a wide range of mathematical topics.

PROMYS India is closely modeled on PROMYS, its 34-year-old parent programme at Boston University in the U.S. which has been running at Boston University in the United States since 1989.
