In this same vein, another remarkable story has emerged, that of 19-year-old Sawan Kumar from Vibhutipur village in the Samastipur district of Bihar, who is currently preparing for the JEE at ALLEN Career Institute, Kota. Recognizing Sawan’s resilience and talent, ALLEN Career Institute granted him an 80% concession on his coaching fees.

Physically frail but resolute in spirit, Sawan Kumar has proven that with determination, any obstacle can be overcome. Despite facing challenges such as financial hardship and physical disability, Sawan continues to strive to stand on his own feet.

Sawan scored a percentile of 99.1473246 in the JEE-Main 2026 examination and is now preparing for the JEE-Advanced 2026. Sawan revealed that he contracted polio when he was just two years old.

As a result, he developed approximately 70% locomotor disability in both legs, which makes walking difficult, a struggle he continues to face to this day. However, he never allowed this physical condition to become a weakness.

Sawan hails from a humble farming family. His father, Prabhu Rai, does not own any agricultural land of his own; instead, he supports the family by farming on a sharecropping basis. Sawan completed his early education at a local school within his village.

Later, demonstrating exceptional merit in an entrance examination, he secured free education from Class 6 to Class 10 at the Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya in Jamui, Bihar. After securing the 10th rank on the merit list in the Class 10 Bihar Board examinations, his family decided to send him to ALLEN Career Institute, Kota, to prepare for engineering entrance exams.

Sawan states that this support proved to be immensely significant for him. Had he not received this assistance, it would not have been possible for him to undertake high-level preparation. One should never allow any physical impairment to become a weakness.

Empower yourself through education and strive to bring about positive changes in your personality. Following his performance in JEE Main, Sawan’s next objective is to achieve success in JEE Advanced 2026.

He aspires to pursue a degree in Computer Science at one of the country’s premier institutions; IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, or IIT Madras. In the future, he aims to join the Civil Services to serve the poor and needy sections of society.
