JEE Main 2025 April Session (3 April Shift I & II) Paper Analysis by ALLEN

Chemistry Paper was Difficult as Compared to January

The second day of the second session of the country’s largest engineering entrance exam JEE Main-April 2025 for admission to BE-BTech course was held on 3 April. Thursday.

The exam was conducted on computer based mode. Dr. Brajesh Maheshwari, Director, ALLEN Career Institute Private Limited, said that the paper has been analyzed on the basis of students’ feedback.

According to the information received from the students, the level of the maths paper was medium as well as lengthy. Those students would have solved the paper well, whose analytical skills are good.

The physics paper was of medium level in the morning and easy in the evening. The chemistry paper was difficult and tricky as compared to January. Students did not face any technical problem on the second day.

Chemistry

The level of Chemistry paper in the morning shift was medium. 24% questions were asked from Inorganic Chemistry, 40% from Physical Chemistry and 36% from Organic Chemistry. Statement and matching list questions were also asked in single option questions in the paper. In Physical Chemistry, two questions were asked from Chemical Equilibrium, one question each was asked from Mole Concept Concentration Term, Atomic Structure, Chemical Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry and Electrochemistry. Whereas in Inorganic Chemistry, one question each was asked from most of the topics. In this, one question each was asked from Periodic Table, Coordination Compound, Salt Analysis, D and P Block. While in organic chemistry, one question each was asked from ozonolysis, oisomerism, acidic strength and basic strength, biomolecule, IOPSC nomenclature and two questions were asked from practical organic chemistry. In the evening shift, the paper was tougher than January and tricky questions were asked. 32-32 percent questions were asked from inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry and 36 percent questions were asked from organic chemistry.

Physics

In the morning shift paper, three questions each were asked from elasticity, heat and thermodynamics and modern physics. Similarly, two questions each were asked from kinematics, geometrical optics, gravitation, current electricity, magnetic effect of current and magnetism. While one question each was asked from Rotational Dynamics, Work Power Energy, Fluid Mechanics, Simple Harmonic Motion Electrostatics, Capacitance, Electro Magnetic Waves and Waves Optics and Errors in Measurement and Instruments and Semiconductors. 16 percent questions were asked from Practical Dynamics, 24 from Electromagnetism, 8 from SHM Waves, 4 from Fluids, 12 from Heat and Thermo and Modern Physics, 8 from Geometrical Optics and 16 percent were mixed. The paper was easy in the evening shift. 15 percent questions were asked from Particle Dynamics, 26 from Electromagnetism, 9 each from SHM, Fluids, Heat and Thermo, Modern Physics and Geometrical Optics while 14 percent questions were asked from other topics.

Maths

Concept based and numerical questions were asked in the Maths paper. In the morning shift, the Maths paper was of medium level but lengthy. Hence, it took time to solve the paper. 36% questions were asked from Algebra, 12% from Vector 3D, 16% from Coordinates, 24% from Calculus, 4% from Trigonometry and 8% were mixed. In the evening shift, the paper was of medium level as well as lengthy. 28% questions were asked from Algebra, 40% from Calculus, 12% each from Coordinates and Vector 3D and 4% each from Trigonometry.
