What is an Adaptive Testing System?

Adaptive testing is a testing system in which the difficulty level of questions changes based on the candidate’s answers.

If a student answers a question correctly, the next question may be relatively difficult. If the answer is incorrect, the next question may be given at a relatively easier level. Thus, the level of the exam varies according to each candidate’s performance.

Although this system is used in many international examinations, it will not be implemented in JEE Advanced 2026.
