JoSAA Counselling 2026 – First round Seat Allotment Released

The Closing Rank for the CS Branch at IIT Bombay was 65

The results of Round 1 of the seat allocation counselling conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA Counselling 2026) were released on Saturday.

The opening and closing ranks for IITs, NITs, Triple ITs, and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) were also released.

The closing JEE Advanced All India Rank for the Computer Science branch at IIT Bombay, a top choice for students, was 65, a decrease of one from last year.

Meanwhile, the closing rank for the female-only seat was 395, compared to 369 last year.

On the other hand, in the case of B.Tech seats, students have been allotted seats at rank 15,934, including a Civil and Infrastructure Engineering seat at IIT Dharwad.

Students have also been offered admission to B.Tech seats through the Girls Only program, with a rank of 26,022. This includes a B.Tech seat in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Jammu. 18,826 seats will be allotted across the country’s 23 IITs.

Admission to IITs is based on JEE Advanced rank, while admission to NITs, Triple ITs, and GFTIs is based on JEE Main rank.

A B.Tech seat at an NIT under the Other State Quota has been allotted at rank 53,202. A B.Tech seat under the Home State Quota has been allotted at rank 1032,951.

In the Other State Quota, a Civil Engineering seat was allotted at a rank of 68,791 under the Female-Only Quota, while a Female-Only seat under the Home State Quota was allotted at a rank of 1,497,038.

The closing rank at Triple IT is 57,305, and the Female-Only seat is offered at a rank of 58,970.

Here is the allotment of gender-neutral seats at IITs:

The closing rank for an Architecture seat at IIT Varanasi (BHU) is 26,220.
The Integrated BMS/MS Dual Degree Chemical Science seat at IIT Dhanbad is 16,526.
The BS Science in Chemical Science seat at IIT Mandi is 16,066.
Similarly, a B.Tech. Civil and Infrastructure Engineering seat at IIT Dharwad is 15,934.

The closing rank for female-only seats at IITs is as follows:

The closing rank for an Architecture seat at IIT (BHU) Varanasi was 27708.
The seat for the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering B.Tech MBA Dual Degree 5-year course at IIT Patna was 26345.
The seat for the BS Engineering Chemistry course at IIT Jodhpur was 26068.
Considering only B.Tech seats, the seat for Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Jammu was 26022.

The seat allocation at NITs is as follows:

The BMS Dual Degree in Chemistry seat at NIT Agartala was allotted through the Other State Quota at the JEE Main rank of 56710.
The B.Tech Civil Engineering seat at NIT Manipur was 53202 through the Other State Quota.
Under the Home State Quota, a B.Tech seat in Chemical Science and Technology at NIT Mizoram was allotted at rank 1032951.
A Civil Engineering seat under the Other State Quota at NIT Manipur was allotted at rank 68791 under the Female Only Quota.
A B.Tech seat in Electronics and Communication Engineering under the Female Only Home State Quota at Mizoram was allotted at rank 1497038.

Here are the seat offers at IIITs at rank 57305:

A four-year B.Tech seat in Electronics and Communication Engineering with a specialization in VLSI at IIT Senapati, Manipur was allotted at rank 57305 in the JEE Main exam.
A four-year B.Tech seat in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Design and Manufacturing at IIT Kannur was offered at rank 58970 for the Female Only course.
