Earlier, the deadline to update and confirm bank account details was July 7, 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for candidates to confirm, correct, or update their bank account details to receive a refund of the examination fee following the cancellation of the exam held on May 3, 2026.
The decision has been taken to ensure that every eligible candidate receives the refund following the cancellation of the original NEET UG 2026 examination. Candidates who have not yet completed the process can now update their bank details through the official portal until 11:50 PM on July 14, 2026.The re-examination was held on June 21 after the May 3 NEET UG exam was cancelled over alleged paper leak concerns that affected more than 20 lakh candidates.
The NTA published the provisional answer key on June 25 and invited objections until June 28. Candidates were required to pay a refundable fee of Rs 200 per question for each challenge, with the amount refunded if the objection was found to be valid.

According to NTA, more than 10.28 lakh candidates (10,28,223) have already confirmed or updated their bank account details after the refund portal was launched. The agency has also started processing and transferring the examination fee refunds to these candidates.
However, a significant number of aspirants are yet to complete the verification process, prompting NTA to reopen the portal for another round of updates.

The refund window has been extended to ensure that no eligible candidate misses out on receiving the examination fee refund. Since many students have not yet verified or updated their banking information, NTA has decided to reopen the facility one final time. Candidates are advised to complete the process well before the deadline to avoid any delay in receiving their refund.
Candidates who have not yet updated or confirmed their bank account information must complete the process by July 14, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. Once the deadline expires, NTA is expected to complete the refund process based on the bank details submitted through the portal. Students are therefore encouraged not to wait until the final hours to avoid technical issues or last-minute errors.

To update bank account details, candidates should visit the official NEET UG 2026 registration portal and log in using their application credentials. After completing the mandatory two-factor authentication, candidates can access the “Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation” link available on the dashboard. They should carefully enter or verify their bank account information before submitting the details.
NTA has also provided an option for candidates to upload a cancelled cheque while submitting their bank account details. Although this step is optional, uploading a cancelled cheque can help ensure that the account number and IFSC code are accurate, reducing the chances of any delay or failure in processing the refund.

Before submitting the form, candidates should double-check all banking information, including the account holder’s name, account number, IFSC code, and bank name. Incorrect or incomplete details may delay the refund process. Students should ensure that the bank account provided is active and capable of receiving electronic fund transfers.
The reopening of the refund portal offers a final chance for NEET UG 2026 candidates who have not yet completed the bank account verification process. Candidates should make use of this opportunity before July 14, 2026, so that the examination fee refund can be credited without any inconvenience. Timely submission of accurate bank details will help ensure a smooth and hassle-free refund process.
