Know NTA’s FAQs on NEET UG Re-Exam 2026

FAQs are related to Fee Refunds, Exam City, Timing, and Centre

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already announced the schedule of the Re-examination of the NEET UG 2026 Examination but there are several questions in the minds of the aspirants of Re-examination.

NTA has tried to clarify those questions of the aspirants through its FAQs. These FAQs exam fees, exam city choice, exam timing, exam centre, additional 15 minutes, and issues encountered in previous exams.

Now, the NTA has clarified that many exam rules will remain the same, while some procedures have been eased for candidates.

When will the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 be held?

According to the NTA, the NEET UG Re-Examination 2026 will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The exam will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode in various cities across the country and abroad.

Candidates can update their current address and preferred exam city by visiting the official website within the stipulated time limit.

Important FAQs on NEET UG Re-Exam 2026

  1. Is the examination fee going to be refunded?

Dear Candidate, it is informed that the option to update present address details, along with city selection with two choices, has presently been made available to candidates. The module for sharing bank account details for refund of examination fee will be provided to candidates by 21st May 2026.

  1. Can I change the medium of examination?

No. The medium of examination selected during submission of the application form earlier is final and cannot be changed.

  1. A message appears stating that “the city selection is unavailable based on the updated address and the application medium chosen during application form filling.” What should I do?

It is informed that the medium of examination selected by the candidate during submission of the application form earlier is fixed and cannot be changed at this stage.

Candidates may refer to Para 6 (ix) of Chapter 4 of the Information Bulletin of NEET (UG)-2026 regarding the available medium options and corresponding States/locations.

  1. Will the same examination centre allotted earlier be allotted again?

Examination centres are allotted on the basis of the city selected by the candidate. Therefore, the examination centre allotted for the re-examination may not necessarily be the same as the earlier centre.

  1. What is the date and timing of the NEET (UG)-2026 Re-examination?

The NEET (UG)-2026 Re-examination will be conducted on 21 June 2026 (Sunday) from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM including the time for formalities.

  1. Why are candidates being given 15 minutes extra time?

An additional 15 minutes are being provided for completion of documentation, verification, and other examination-related formalities.
