The joint counselling process for 67,323 seats across 134 institutions, including IITs and NITs, is underway. Students can report online after the fourth round of seat allocation until July 13th at 5:00 PM.

Students whose documents uploaded during online reporting are found to be deficient must respond to the query by July 14th at 5:00 PM, or their seats will be cancelled.

JEE Advanced Result 2026

Education Expert at ALLEN Career Institute explained that students will have to report online in different ways for final admission to the IITs and NITs allotted to them in the fifth round of JoSAA counselling.

Students who have been allocated IIT seats must complete the admission process by physically reporting to their allotted IIT website, obtaining information regarding the remaining college fees and required documents. Physical reporting dates vary for each IIT.

In contrast, students allocated to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs must first confirm their seats by paying a partial admission fee between July 22nd and 24th. Otherwise, their allotted NIT seat will be cancelled. This partial admission fee is ₹45,000 for General, OBC, and EWS categories, and ₹20,000 for SC/ST categories.

After paying the partial admission fee, students should obtain information regarding the remaining college fees and the required documents for final admission to their allotted NIT system colleges from the colleges’ websites.

Last chance to withdraw IIT seat until 5 pm on July 14th

Students who are not satisfied with their allotted IIT seat through the fifth round of JoSAA counselling and wish to appear for the JEE-Advanced 2025 exam next year must withdraw their IIT seat by the deadline of July 14th, 5 pm, or they will not be eligible to appear for the JEE-Advanced exam next year, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria for the JEE-Advanced exam.
