Last Minute Strategy for CBSE Board Students | Secret Tips & Tricks

As the CBSE Class 12 Term-II examinations have started, students must have several questions to score high in their board exams.

As you know, exams have already started on 26th April 2022. In the upcoming days, you will be attempting Hindi, then Chemistry, English, Physics, Biology, Physical Education, Mathematics & Computer Science Papers. Some of the students will appear in 5 and others in 6 subjects.

Here is the best strategy to follow:

The strategy is very accomplishable, as, with a bit of awareness, your score can boost upto 95% to 100%. And for those who haven’t started their preparation yet, or are in a fear zone, can also achieve first division marks.

• First of all, you should presume that whatever you have prepared till now is very good.
• Train your brain with the ‘All is Well’ concept that everything is going well at present, and start making efforts so that what’s about to happen will be great.
• Be fully positive as we breathe; fill positivity inside you with every breath.

When you believe in the above three points, arrange the syllabus according to the essential topics to cover first, and let’s move to the crux.

What to extract from NCERT?

• Be familiar with the headings marked with bold letters
• Get familiar with those lines printed in italics
• Find and underline the content with the prefix “note that…” in NCERT

The Board will frame questions from this content in each subject.

What to revise in the last?

• The sample papers issued by CBSE along with the marking scheme.
• The additional practice questions uploaded by CBSE on its educational website.
• The practice papers available under BMS and BMS 2.0 [board master stroke scheme (allen.ac.in)]

Practice writing the descriptive answers in each subject, as described in the marking scheme.

The convincing Fact:

The pattern is subjective, and there is no negative marking, so you must attempt each question. You have to prepare only half part of the whole syllabus with a 30% reduction and no board percentage criteria to fight competitive exams, so it is good if you can perform better without any pressure.
According to past experience, you may expect:

• Two questions in your exam from sample papers issued by CBSE
• Two questions from additional practice questions uploaded by CBSE
• Remaining questions will be similar to those which you practice through the practice papers available under BMS and BMS 2.0 [ board master stroke scheme (allen.ac.in)]

Your focus is needed here:

Every subject is special, and it needs different aspects to be strong for effective representation, such as:

• In Physics and Biology, you must practice diagrams.
• In Mathematics, you must write each step while solving the question, as well as be aware of the applicable methods for solving different types of questions.
• In chemistry, appropriate familiarity is needed with reactions.

Overall representation matters for each subject, so while writing the answers, you should keep in mind that:

• Underline each heading or subheading involved in the answer.
• Draw a two-inch border on the right side of the page of your answer sheet where you can do your rough work. Otherwise, doing the rough work anywhere in the sheet will make it look untidy and prone to error due to page-turning.
• Increase the pictographic content wherever possible by including as many diagrams, tables, charts, etc. It will help to make your knowledge more noticeable and visible than writing it in the form of long paragraphs.
• Try to write most answers in points or bullets with properly highlighted headers and sub-headers. Make the critical points highlighted/underlined.
• Whenever you need to cut a word or an answer, draw a line with your pen over that particular text/word. Avoid overwriting.
• Do not forget to write the question number against each answer correctly. It should be visible.
• Leave a proper gap between the two answers.

What sequence to follow?

You will get 15 to 20 minutes to read the paper and for sorting the questions, so you should:

• Prefer to start the paper with those questions that have a choice to boost confidence at the beginning.
• Attempt those questions first, in which you are fully confident.
• You can’t break the internal sequence of the question; if Q no. 6 has three subparts, then all should be solved in sequence in continuation.

Pen or pencil for making diagrams?

You have to choose only one color, blue or dark blue, with the same pen. You will complete your paper, underlining work, drawing a rectangle around the final numerical answer and diagram. You may use a pencil in combination with a pen to make diagrams. If a diagram is made with a pencil, then do the naming with a pen or vice-versa.
