Government MBBS Seat Allotted at AIR 14,220 and 589 Marks
The Rajasthan NEET UG 2026 counselling process has moved ahead with the release of the Round 1 seat allotment result. The result gives candidates a clearer picture of the admission trend for MBBS and BDS courses in government and Rajasthan Medical Education Society (Raj-MES) colleges across the state.
According to the Round 1 allotment data, a candidate belonging to the General category secured a government MBBS seat at an All India Rank (AIR) of 14,220 with 589 marks in NEET UG 2026. The closing rank and score indicate the level of competition for government medical seats in Rajasthan this year.
For comparison, the first round of the central NEET UG counselling process had recorded a closing rank of 22,342 at 572 marks. This means the Rajasthan state counselling closing rank was higher by 8,122 ranks, while the score requirement was higher by 17 marks.
The Round 1 allotment figures indicate that candidates seeking MBBS seats under the government-fee structure needed a strong NEET UG score, particularly in the General, OBC and EWS categories.
Career counselling expert Parijat Mishra said that Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College, Jaipur remained the preferred choice among candidates for government medical admissions. On the other hand, Government Medical College, Jaisalmer received comparatively fewer preferences.
The Round 1 data also highlights significant differences in closing ranks across categories, particularly for candidates applying under the NRI quota.
For government MBBS seats under the NRI category, the closing rank for candidates from Rajasthan reached 10,39,206, corresponding to a NEET UG score of 205 marks. For NRI candidates from other states, the closing rank stood at 9,96,205, with a score of 213 marks.

The figures show that the General category had one of the highest score requirements, with 589 marks recorded as the closing score for both boys and girls in Round 1. Candidates belonging to reserved categories had different closing ranks depending on their category and eligibility.
The Round 1 allotment data also provides the closing ranks for MBBS seats available under the management-fee structure in government and Raj-MES colleges.

The management-fee data shows a considerably wider range of closing ranks compared with government-fee seats. For General category candidates, the closing score was around 534–535 marks, while candidates from some reserved categories received allotments at significantly lower scores.
Candidates interested in dental education can also assess their admission chances from the Round 1 BDS allotment figures. The following were the reported closing ranks for BDS seats under the government-fee structure in government and Raj-MES colleges:

For General category candidates, the BDS closing score remained in the mid-540s. General girls recorded a closing score of 549 marks, while the corresponding figure for General boys was 546 marks.
Candidates who have received a seat in the first round should carefully follow the reporting and fee-payment instructions. The allotment does not complete the admission process by itself; candidates must complete the required formalities within the prescribed deadline.
Candidates can generate and print their NEET UG 2026 Round 1 allotment letter online until September 5. The document can be accessed through the candidate’s registered login ID and password.
Candidates must also pay the first-year tuition fee online within the specified period. The payment receipt should be preserved and carried during the reporting process.
Candidates who have been allotted a seat in a government or private medical or dental college are required to report with their original certificates and documents by September 5.
For the specified reporting process, candidates are required to appear at the Academic Block of SMS Medical College, Jaipur, along with the necessary documents.
Candidates should carry the final printout of the counselling application form in four sets, along with the required photocopies and original documents.
The fee-payment receipt mentioned in the allotment letter should also be kept safely and presented during the admission formalities.
Candidates who are not satisfied with their Round 1 allotment can use the free exit option, subject to the applicable counselling rules. By choosing the appropriate option, eligible candidates can participate again in the subsequent round of the Rajasthan NEET UG counselling process.
Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted college and want to retain the seat need to complete the required acceptance formalities at the college desk. Once the seat is accepted under the applicable rules, they do not need to participate in further rounds.
Candidates should carefully select their option because the decision taken during the counselling process can affect their participation in subsequent rounds.

Candidates should therefore avoid judging their admission chances solely on the basis of one closing rank. They should consider their NEET UG 2026 rank, marks, category, domicile status, preferred college, seat type and the availability of seats in subsequent counselling rounds before making their final decision.
The Round 1 result is also useful for candidates preparing for the next phase of counselling, as the closing ranks can help them assess which colleges and courses may remain realistic options in subsequent rounds.
