The country’s most prestigious engineering entrance examination, JEE Advanced 2026, was conducted on Sunday across two shifts. Vinod Kumawat, President of ALLEN Career Institute, Kota, stated that, based on feedback received from students, the difficulty level of the papers ranged from moderate to difficult.

In Paper 1, a total of 16 questions were asked in each subject, comprising four multiple-choice questions, four single-correct-option questions, four numerical questions, and four questions involving list matching. In Paper 2, 18 questions were asked in each subject.

This included four single-correct-option questions, five multiple-correct-option questions, five numerical questions, and two paragraph-based questions, the answers to which were numerical values.

Regarding the difficulty level of the papers, students observed that many questions in the actual exam mirrored the style and standard of the mock tests conducted during their preparation in Kota.

This time, given the nature of the Physics paper, it is being cited as the primary factor that will determine the students’ ranks, as the Physics paper was arguably the most challenging among the three subjects.

Physics Paper Analysis by ALLEN

Overall, the Physics paper was lengthy and proved to be more difficult compared to previous years. The calculations involved kept students engaged and challenged, and the questions were framed in an innovative, that is, novel manner.

No questions were asked from the new topics that had been added to the syllabus. The questions in the paper carried a higher weightage from the Class 12 syllabus. Compared to Paper 1, Paper 2 was both more difficult and more lengthy. All questions were drawn from topics specifically prescribed for JEE Advanced.

Chemistry Paper Analysis by ALLEN

In the Chemistry paper, questions related to Organic Chemistry carried a higher weightage. The Organic Chemistry section in Paper 1 was easy, while in Paper 2, it was moderate and lengthy. Most of the questions were based on standard reactions and involved the application of multiple concepts.

The Inorganic Chemistry section in Paper 1 ranged from easy to moderate in difficulty, while in Paper 2, it ranged from moderate to difficult. All questions were drawn from the syllabus, and among the various sections, Chemistry carried the highest weightage.

The Physical Chemistry section in Paper 1 was easy, whereas in Paper 2, it ranged from easy to moderate difficulty. Not a single question was asked from the topics of Solid State or Real Gases. All questions were strictly based on the JEE Advanced syllabus.

Mathematics Paper Analysis by ALLEN

As usual, the Mathematics paper was lengthy and innovative. Two questions each were asked from the new topics added to the syllabus. The number of questions from Conic Sections and Permutations & Combinations was higher than usual.
