Meet JEE Advanced AIR-3 Jatin Chahar & his family

Journey From a Small Town to a Big Dream

ALLEN student Jatin Chahar, who achieved remarkable success in JEE Advanced 2026, one of the country’s toughest engineering entrance exams, has become an inspiration for thousands of students.

His success isn’t limited to a rank or an exam; it’s a story of struggle, discipline, family support, and relentless hard work that paved the way for a son from an ordinary family to reach IIT.

Jatin’s story shows that with a clear goal, family support, and consistent hard work, no dream is impossible.

Jatin was a calm and hardworking person from childhood

Jatin’s parents say that their son has always been very calm and composed. He spoke little but performed his duties with utmost responsibility. Jatin, who avoided mischief, was always inspired by his older brothers and other successful family members.

Mother’s struggle became the biggest strength for success

Behind every successful student lies someone’s sacrifice. His mother played a vital role in Jatin’s success.

According to the family, his mother paid utmost attention to Jatin’s studies, diet, time management, and mental balance. While other children spent time in sports and entertainment, Jatin’s mother ensured that his timetable ran smoothly.

She not only fulfilled the responsibilities of a mother, but also played the role of a guide, motivator, and the biggest supporter. She believes that merely scolding children or pressuring them to study is not enough.

Giving them time, listening to them, and standing by them is equally important.

Father posted in the BSF played a crucial role despite being away

Jatin’s father serves in the Border Security Force (BSF). His job often required him to be away from home.

Despite this, he always encouraged his son and maintained his faith. He recalls that when he first enrolled Jatin in a coaching institute, there were posters of successful students.

He asked his son if he could achieve the same thing one day. Jatin simply replied, “I’ll try.” Today, that effort has turned into a major success, and the family’s dream has come true.

Disciplined Study Model Behind Success

Success in an exam like JEE Advanced isn’t achieved simply by studying for long periods of time. According to Jatin, the key to success is proper planning and consistent practice.

He paid special attention to a few important things during his preparation:

  • Adhering to a regular timetable
  • Completing homework daily
  • Constant revision of class notes
  • Analysing test mistakes
  • Putting extra effort into weak subjects
  • Clearing doubts with teachers on time

Jatin says that most students work hard but don’t analyse their mistakes. This habit sets him apart from others.

Learning from mistakes became his biggest strength

Jatin’s mother says that whenever he returned from a test or exam, the first thing he did was discuss his mistakes.

He would explain every wrong question and point out where he went wrong. This habit gradually became his biggest strength.

While many students try to hide their mistakes, Jatin saw them as an opportunity to improve. This approach is considered crucial for success in a competitive exam like JEE Advanced.

Family support became the foundation of self-confidence

Family environment plays a crucial role in any student’s success. Jatin’s parents never put unnecessary pressure on him.

They always motivated him and provided guidance when needed. According to the family, the home environment should be positive. If a child can share his problems openly, he becomes mentally stronger and better able to face challenges.

Jatin’s success is an example of how a balance of love, trust, and discipline can take children to great heights.

Staying connected to relationships led to a balanced personality

Despite his rigorous studies, Jatin maintained connections with his family and relatives. He enjoys spending time with his uncle, cousins, and other family members.

He believes that emotional balance is as important as studies. Time spent with family reduces stress and provides new energy. This is why he maintained mental balance even during the difficult preparation period.

Jatin’s Parents’ Message for Other Parents

Jatin’s parents believe that instead of putting excessive pressure on children, they should be given proper direction and adequate time.

They advise parents to:

  • Take an interest in their children’s studies.
  • Stay in touch with teachers.
  • Understand their children’s problems.
  • Focus on effort, not just results.
  • Maintain a positive home environment.
  • Provide emotional support to children.
  • They believe that when teachers and parents work together, students perform better.
