When he was left stranded, he decided to go to Kota for coaching. He sold potatoes with his father to raise money. After studying for a year at ALLEN Career Institute in Kota, Altaf achieved success.

He took the NEET exam eight years in a row, from 2019 to 2026. In his eighth attempt, Allen Kota student Altaf scored 563 marks this year.

Regarding his success, Altaf says, “If we are determined, everything is possible. In Kota, I learned what I hadn’t been able to learn in seven years. Had I come earlier, I would have been selected.

I kept trying, but lacked coaching, which Kota fulfilled. Now, along with my family’s dream, I have also fulfilled it. I want to thank my faculty and friends who supported me completely. Some provided notes, some provided guidance, due t which i was able to succeed.”

Altaf’s father, Iqbal Hussain, says, “We never imagined Altaf would become a doctor. We support our family by selling potatoes. We never had such big dreams. Altaf tried hard, and we supported him as much as we could. I also felt that if he had gone to Kota earlier, this result could have been achieved in previous years.”

In this regard, Naveen Maheshwari, founder of ALLEN Career Institute, said that Altaf’s success is an inspiration for other students. Kota is full of such success stories, which is why students here are prepared to give their best, and their results are different and better.

First exam in 2019

Altaf, preparing with ALLEN, scored 563 marks in NEET UG 2026. He holds an All India Rank of 27910 and is ranked 13437th in the OBC category. Altaf first took the NEET exam in 2019, scoring 323 marks.

After that, he continued his preparation, borrowing study material and notes from students in his town who studied in Kota, and watching online lectures. In 2022, he scored 516 marks, while his scores improved to 590 in 2023 and 2024.

However, due to the high cut-off at that time, he was unable to secure admission to a medical college. Scored 501 marks in 2025. Scored 85 percent in both 10th and 12th grades from the UP Board.

Brother’s Accident Changed His Mind

Altaf said, “After passing 12th grade, I started working with my father at the potato stall. My elder brother used to go to Bareilly Mandi to buy potatoes at around 2 a.m. One day, he met with an accident.

This incident had a deep impact on me. I realized that I can’t do the same thing my entire life, and this thought inspired me to prepare for NEET.

Every year, about 10-12 children from Nawabganj town succeed in NEET and get admission into medical college. Seeing them was very motivating.”

Family Situation

Altaf’s father, Iqbal Hussain Ansari, supports the family by setting up a potato stall on the roadside in the town. His mother, Kubran, is illiterate, while his father only studied until the ninth grade. Till the year 2015, the family lived in a mud house.

After this, a two-room pucca house was built, in which 12 members of the family lived. Apart from an elder brother, there are eight sisters in the family, all of whom are married.
