Shubham Kumar has Created History by Securing AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2026

Shubham Kumar, a resident of Gaya, Bihar, has set a new example of inspiration for millions of students across the country by securing All India Rank 1 in the JEE Advanced 2026 results.

Shubham’s father says that about 30 years ago, he too dreamed of becoming an engineer, but due to circumstances, he was unable to fulfill his dream.

Years later, his daughter’s admission to IIT gave his dream a new direction, and now his son, Shubham, has taken that dream to new heights by securing AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2026.

According to him, his son’s achievement has filled the entire family with pride. He never imagined achieving Rank 1, but seeing Shubham’s consistent hard work and dedication to studies, he was confident that he would achieve great things.

The Decision to Send to Kota Became a Turning Point

The most important turning point in Shubham’s success story was when the family decided to send him to Kota. Initially, his father wanted Shubham to study in Gaya because he had full confidence in his child’s abilities.

However, Shubham’s sister and mother believed that Kota’s academic environment and competitive atmosphere would take him to new heights.

After much deliberation, the family decided to send Shubham to Kota. Today,

Shubham himself believes that this was the most important decision of his life. He says that if he hadn’t come to Kota, he might not have had the opportunity and environment that shaped his preparation.

Elder Sister Becomes His Biggest Inspiration

Shubham’s elder sister has already secured admission to IIT. During their preparation, the two siblings discussed studies, strategies, and problems with each other.

Shubham says that his sister always encouraged him and played a key role in his decision to go to Kota.

They shared a healthy competitive and supportive relationship regarding his studies, which inspired Shubham to consistently perform better.

Mother’s Sacrifice and Emotional Support

A mother’s role is crucial in any student’s success, and Shubham’s story is no different. Shubham’s mother explains that sending her son away from home for the first time wasn’t easy. She worried about how he would eat, adapt to the new environment, and manage his needs.

In the early days, she spoke to her son daily and took care of his every need, big and small. Over time, Shubham adapted to his new environment, and his mother’s worries diminished.

Today, she believes that sending her son away from home was difficult, but it was a necessary step for his bright future.

Shubham’s parents believe that providing a positive environment is more important than putting unnecessary pressure on children.

Whenever he didn’t score the expected marks on a test, the family never reacted negatively.

His parents always maintained that low scores on one exam don’t mean failure. There’s always an opportunity to perform better next time. This mindset helped Shubham study without stress.

According to him, after coming to Kota, he realized that students from all over the country come here solely to fulfill their dreams, and this environment motivates him to continuously move forward.

Family played a vital role on exam day

Even on the challenging exam day of JEE Advanced, his family fully supported Shubham. Shubham says that his mother took care of every detail, from time management to food and rest between the two exam papers.

According to him, proper planning on exam day and family support also play a crucial role in the final result.

Shubham’s parents believe that a student’s success isn’t solely the result of their hard work, but also the trust and support of the entire family. They say that parents shouldn’t put excessive pressure on their children, but should instead provide them with freedom and emotional support.

They advise that instead of immediately questioning their performance after the exam, they should give them the opportunity to mentally relax. This helps maintain their confidence and enable them to perform better.
